During a recent outing with her rumoured fiancé, Joe Alwyn, Taylor Swift wore no jewellery, including an engagement ring.
The 32-year-old country-turned-pop star and the 31-year-old British actor were spotted together for the first time in public on Thursday morning after The Sun’s June 30 report claiming they’ve been engaged “for a few months.” The renownedly discreet couple came prepared for the outing in dark blue shorts, sneakers, baseball caps, and sunglasses.
They were dressed for the summer heat. Despite the engagement rumours, Swift was also clearly sans engagement ring. The “Favourite” actress wore a plain white T-shirt, while the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer wore a loose, light blue open button-down over a light grey tank top with a red-and-white striped bralette underneath.
As they entered a café for some iced coffees, Swift and Alwyn disguised themselves and sat down to enjoy them before taking them to go. The musician only wears her “beautiful” engagement ring from her longtime partner “behind closed doors,” like “when she’s at home,” according to a previous report in The Sun.
The “Conversations with Friends” actor’s friend allegedly told the publication that the couple only revealed their engagement to “their inner-inner circle” and that “only a handful of people know details about the wedding.” The source stated that they “want their love to stay as far away from the cameras as possible” and that their wedding will “most definitely” not be covered by the media.
According to Page Six, Swift and Alwyn first met at the 2016 Met Gala, but they didn’t make their relationship public until May of that year.
Since they first met, they have kept their relationship a secret, but over the years, there have been several instances of engagement rumours.
Alwyn said in April to WSJ. Magazine, “I mean, the truth is, if the answer [that we were engaged] was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.”
